  • Fields of Research
    Kerstin Kracht has been guest professor of “Mechanics of Artworks and Cultural Objects” at the Chair of Continuum Mechanics and Materials Theory at the Technical University of Berlin since September 2020. Her research is based in the field of Structural Dynamics and Vibration Technology. More specifically, she is actively engaged in:
    • Continuum mechanical description of the vibration behaviour of paintings on textile,
    • Investigation of the damage mechanism of oil paintings,
    • FEM Modelling of the vibration behaviour of cultural objects based on Experimental Modal Analysis results (Model Updating),
    • Optimization and stabilization of vibration-isolating and shock-reducing mounts,
    • Nonlinear Dynamics.
